Energy management dispatching system

Purpose

Automatic control systems complex is intended for monitoring of the basic industry supplies. They control the set of values maintaining the regular water, compressed air and electricity supplies.

In case the parameters reach the unacceptable limits, in emergency or breakdown the system generates the alarm signals which enable the operator"s quick and correspondent reaction on the situation.

Long-term events registering makes it possible to investigate the emergency causes and take measures for preventing them, evaluate the staff competency in emergency situations.

Dispatching system structure

The system consists of:

• operator"s workstation (PC with special software)
• sensors and converters;
• several cable routings, each up to 2000 m length.

The system covers fourteen objects of the plant and controls the basic parameters necessary for industry functioning, such as temperature, pressure, voltage, safety devices up-state etc.

Basic functions of the software

• remote data collection station inquiry and storing information in the real time database.
• visualization of the current parameters values as several windows images (displayed on the operator"s choice).
• analyzing the input values and generating alarm and warning messages in case of limits exceed.
• registering the events in the log files, registering the event"s confirmation time by operator.
• saving the data into long-term events registers. Reviewing and printing the archives as schedules so the in the diagram form.

Software features

The software installed on the operator"s workstation is developed on the basis of SCADA-system iFix Dynamix by Intellution under Windows 2000.

In the general mode the operator can see the common schedule of the plant with schematic images of dispatching objects.

For switching to detailed object displaying mode the operator should click the mouse on the corresponding elements.

In emergency, warning or data collection connection block failure the operator should react in time - confirm the alarm signal and take the corresponding measures to fix the failure. The events register stores the alarm time and confirmation time, thus it is possible to evaluate the work of the operators.

The software provides for the users hierarchy with different access levels protected by passwords.

The system has the option of extending and adding the new data collection blocks, also the option of switching the sensors.
