Aluminium Electrolysis Control

Purpose

Almost for five years we have been producing the equipment for the electrolysis of aluminum. We traditionally cooperate in these sphere with the Moscow based company ToxSoft. During these years there have been developed all in all more than 10 modifications of the electrolyser control system.

The biggest aluminium plants of Russia use our equipment. They are Bratsky AZ, Irkutsky AZ, Sayanogorsky AZ, Volgogradsky AZ, Nadvoitsky AZ, Novokuznetsky AZ.

By the large we supplied these plants with 1000 control panels.

Realization features

The development principles established by PROMAUTOMATION found the most full realisation in the equipment for electrolysis:

• Imported electro-technical parts of the panels. The choice of the latter is not determined by the producer"s concrete name. This asset ensures the optimization of the electro-technical parts cost and guarantees their quality.
  
• We developed special blocks which provide the optimal solution of the problem.
  
• We look up to the maximal use of the standard electro-technical parts. This saves time of developing and production.
  

The basis of TROLL unit is the programmable PC-compatible controller by Octagon Systems. Controllers are to work in the temperature range of -40 C - +85 C, which is very important for the industries of Siberia.

The Grayhill units are used for standardization of galvanic isolation of measuring and control circuits. They ensure the galvanic isolation of 3000 V, characterized by the measuring preciseness, work in the temperature range of -40 C - +70 C..

The equipment for electrolyses possesses a number of interesting technical solutions:

• special waterproof keypads meet the operator"s requirements and ensure the protection of the panels from external influence IP65.
  
• The controller and power part are placed in one unit.
  
• The heaters set up in the panels keep the inner temperature above zero (Celsius), which is a very important feature for the Siberian climate conditions
  
• Non-expensive special blocks that control the engine"s current make it possible to make prognoses about engine"s efficiency and the necessity of the routine preventive service.
  
• The negligence of the operators can be prevented by the remote turn on of the automatic protection machines, which determines the option of stopping the work by the controllers.
  

Undoubtedly the most important thing for us is the quality of the electro-technical parts and we are glad to state that the equipment shows to be very safe.
